World's End

#190804   16x20  oil on canvas

My wife, Katie, is undoubtedly the greatest supporter of my art and I love her for her kindness and for encouraging my "habit".  Her friend, Kelly liked some of my work and asked if I could turn a favorite photo of hers into a painting.  I'd go to the "end's of the earth"  for my wife, so when she "commissioned" me to create this painting, I gladly began working.  World's End is an open space / park in Hingham, Massachusetts, along  the south shore and affords stunning views of the Boston skyline in the distance.  This painting (World's End) is based on Kelly's photo and shows a section of Hingham Harbor on a summer day, with the city along the horizon.  I hope she enjoys her painting as much as I  enjoyed creating it.
