Monterey Bay From 17 Mile Drive
#171101 oil on canvas 9X12 (2017)
Some of my fondest memories are the times I spent on the Monterey
Peninsula playing golf and enjoy the beauty of the northern California coast. Walking along 17 Mile Drive each morning is an especially fond memory. This painting is based on a photograph I took in 1999 on one of those walks. It was a typical Monterey morning; cool and damp with a fog hanging along the coast. When I look at this painting, I can almost hear the waves crashing on the rocks.
