#180202 18x24 oil on canvas
"Holes" is best described as a "post-impressionistic still life". The flower centers are primary colors (red, yellow, blue) circled by secondary compliments (green, violet, orange). It may be difficult to see in the photo to the right, but the canvas is littered with holes. Many of the centers are punctured, while oter areas of the composition have random holes. The painting came about following my attempt to sand down a failed painting and reuse the canvas. I sanded to hard and wore holes in the surface. Thus.... Holes.
Update 11/2/19: I'm thrilled to announce that "Holes" was recently acquired by my dear friends "Mike and Lisa. The artwork is now a permanent piece in their Cumberland, Maine collection.
