Blacks Creek: Spring
#190602 oil on canvas 16 x 20
A return of the spring to Blacks Creek brings new growth; new life and new color to the banks of a spot I've visited and painted previously. This plein air painting was completed in two visits on consecutive days. Both days were over cast and cool. The water flowed quietly and the Queen Anne's Lace along the banks swayed slowly in the breeze. Blacks Creek is a spot that I've come to enjoy painting. It holds memories of younger days growing up and living in Quincy, Massachusetts. Monet had his Lillies and Hay Stacks. I have my creek.
